# References

> Show customer logos, testimonials and ratings on the landing page, as static cards or an autoplaying row.

**Marketing → References** manages the social proof block: names, short quotes, photos and star ratings from real customers.

## Fields

| Field | Notes |
| - | - |
| Name | Customer or company name |
| Title | Small line under the name, for example "Customer" or "Store owner" |
| Photo | Square image, up to 4 MB, resized automatically |
| Rating | One to five stars |
| Comment | The quote itself |
| Order | Placement order in the row |
| Active | Switch individual cards off without deleting them |

## Display modes

| Mode | Behaviour |
| - | - |
| Cards | A static grid, best when you have two or three strong quotes |
| Slider | A horizontally scrolling row, best with four or more |

> [!NOTE]
>
> The slider needs at least three active references to scroll smoothly. With fewer, the block falls back to a static row.

## Writing references that help

A good reference names the product and the outcome: "keys arrived in seconds, sold out in a day". A vague "great service" adds nothing and reads like filler. Ask customers for permission before you publish their name and photo.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Never invent a testimonial, a logo or a star rating. Fake proof is easy to spot and turns a sale into a refund request.
