# Slider and announcements

> Manage the announcement bar above the header and publish news posts with cover images.

Two different tools live next to each other in the menu: the slider, which is a thin bar above the header, and announcements, which are news posts.

## Slider

The slider is a scrolling bar that sits above the header on every theme. Use it for a shipping promise, a campaign code or a maintenance warning.

| Field | Notes |
| - | - |
| Text | Supports bold, italic, underline, text colour, background colour and links |
| Background colour | Pick from the palette or enter a hex value |
| Click link | Internal path such as /campaign or a full URL. Empty means the bar is not clickable |
| Scroll speed | Seconds for one full pass |

**1. Add a slider**

**Marketing → Slider → Add New Slider**.

**2. Write the line**

Keep it under 90 characters so it stays readable on mobile.

**3. Add the link**

Point it at the product or category the message is about.

**4. Publish**

The bar appears on all pages and all themes immediately.

## Announcements

Announcements are short news posts with a cover image, listed on the news page of the storefront. Typical uses: a new product line, a price change, a scheduled maintenance window, a policy update.

> Announcements are not sent by mail. If you want customers to be notified, post the same text into your Discord channel with the webhook integration or use a mail template.
